EQCS (European Quality Control System) is the umbrella organisation for European market and bottler inspections. It was founded in December 2009, since when SGF has also been a member. Apart from the EQCS‘s responsibility for coordination and harmonisation, full control responsibility for the finished goods markets and bottlers lies with the individual control systems, as the members of the EQCS. These are responsible either for an individual country (National Control Systems NQCS) or for several countries (Regional Control Systems RQCS).
IQCS/Bottler is such a regional control system, run by SGF. Currently, the countries of Austria, Estonia, Germany, Hungary, Lithuania, the Netherlands and Portugal belong to this regional control system. In addition, the member group IQCS/Bottler has got individual member companies in Finland, Switzerland and China.
Main focus of control here is the safety and authenticity of the finished goods, correct labeling, proper production conditions, and compliance with the VCS system rules. Additionally, the SGF determines further control issues (products or market segments) to be checked for potential risk factors annually for each country.

Besides the finished goods, the SGF collects and analyses retained counter samples from additionally purchased semi-finished goods, in particular from suppliers not participating in the VCS. VCS bottlers purchasing semi-finished goods from outside the system have to prove the respective inwards control. This ensures that VCS bottlers process exclusively controlled raw materials and thus produce so-called VCS system goods.
